Dr Catharine Jawahar joins Adelaide university Australia

Dr Catherine Jawahar daughter of V S Jawahar, ex Sargeant Indian Air Force, presently works at CLRI-CSIR, Guindy and late Philo Jawahar after receving her convocation as Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Melbourne, Australia, has been placed as Reserach Officer at the University of Adelaide, Australia. She is the grand daughter of Mary Swaminathan on the father's side and Late David Dorairaj on the mother's side.

Both Mary Swaminathan and late David Dorairaj are the children of Thaveethu, son of Samuel son of Jacob the grand old man and founder of Nanchankulam Villlage Nellai Dist. Thaveethu was known as Vaadhyaar - teacher and he was employed at the Penang Free School, Pulao Penang, Federation of Malaya prior to independence of India in 1947. The great grand daughter has once again landed in a foreign university as a teaher in the foot steps of the great grand father.

Dr Catharine Jawahar we wish to congratulate you and wish all the best. May Lord Jesus Mary and Joseph with you and bless all your hand work. The extended family of Jacobsons of Nanchankulam Village is jubilant on your new assignment.

PASSING AWAY OF THERESA RAJAN

THERESA RAJAN MUMBAI R.I.P




Another senior member from Naanjai Jacobsons Family, Nanchankulam Nellai Dist, Theresa Rajan passed away on the 29th Sept 2011 at Mumbai and was buried there. She was the sister of Mary Cursa Isaac who passed away in June this year at Madurai and intered along with her husband Isaac who was son of Thaveethu son of Samuel son of Jacob the grand old man who founded the village Nanchankulam. Theresa was married to Rajan of Kunnamkulam who worked in the railway in Mumbai and he had passed away in 2007. She is survived by her sons Cecil Raj who is employed in the railways and Simon. May the souls of Rajan and Theresa rest in peace. Grant them O Lord eternal Peace and let your eternal life shine upon them. We thank the Lord for having gifted to the Naanjai Jacob sons family. We shall meet on the beautiful shore is our christian faith where we shall see them as they were.

THIRTIETH DAY REMEMBRANCE FOR MARY CRUZ

The 30th day remembrance was observed on 16th July 2011 at Manamadurai. The RIP Mass was offered by Rev Jagannivasar Parish Priest Aruppukkottai. Relatives and friends gathered in large numbers to express their gratitude to Mary Cruz. After the eucharistic celebration, the family members went to the cemetry to pay obesience to the departed soul.
Later, the prayer meeting was held wherein Fr Jagannivasar, Francis Xavier eldest son of Crusa Gnanaraj, Rathinakumar son of David Rajendran shared their thoughts on the sudden death of Crusa.

DEATH IN THE NAANJAI JACOBSONS FAMILY

PASSING AWAY OF MARY CRUZ ISAAC 1927-2011

With profound grief we regret to record the death of Mrs Mary Cruz Isaac at the age of 84 at Madurai on 3rd June 2011. Earlier she was hospitalized for sickness at Sooryia Hopital Vadapalani Chennai. She was ailing for sometime and was with her youngest daughter Christy who is Head Nurse at MIOT hospital Chennai. Only the earlier day on 2nd June was transported to Madurai for further care. However, she passed away at 3.30 pm on 3rd June 2011 at Madurai. Later the body was moved to Manamadurai for final rites. She was to be buried along with her spouse Mr David Isaac son of Thaveethu, son of Samuel, son of Jacob, the grand old man and founder of Nanchankulam Village Tirunelveli Dist.

She is survived by her daughters and sons.
1. Daughter Rani, Vaiyapuri, married grand daughter Devi
2. Son Francis Xavier, Fatima selvi, grand daughters Cheryl Immaculate and Linda
3. Daughter Lilly Josephine, Joseph Anand grand children Babu and Priya
4. Daughter Philo, Joseph Danaswamy grand daughter Angel Jayamary
5. Daughter Teresa, Grand daughter Rosa Mystica
6. Son Arul John David, Amala Grand son Anto
7. Daughter Christina Sagaya Mary and grand daughter May Evangeline

Cruza was born and brought up in Colombo (Ceylon) though a native of Thuriayur near Kailasapuram Tirunelveli Dist. Her brother Arul Madhu retired Jailer in the Tamil Nadu Jail Services passed away long ago. He lived in his native village Thuriayur after his retirement. She was a teacher in the Surya Narayana Sastri (SNS) School, Manamadurai and eldest daughter-in-law of Thaveethu. As Thaveethu worked as a teacher in Free School and died at a young age at Penang Malaysia, Mary, later Mary Swaminathan, eldest of the siblings, brought them up and settled in Manamadurai.
On 4th June 2011 the funeral mass was held at the Manamadurai R C Church and was attended by her sons, daughters, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren and host of relatives and friends. Later she was interned in the R C cemetery along side her spouse David Isaac.
Thus the three sons and their spouses of Thaveethu of Nanchankulam Village Tirunelveli Dist finally laid to rest. Each was buried along with his spouse - a rare blessing indeed in these modern times. May their generation give thanks to the life and times and praise the Lord. May they continue to intercede for their children and their children’s children and their progeny for ever with the Lord Jesus.
Lord we thank you for giving us them as our parents.

DEATH IN THE NAANJAI JACOBSONS FAMILY

Mrs Violet Manicam wife of Mr Manicam retired ACM WCR Jabalpur and daughter of late Hon Capt M L Ratnam Retired from Indian Army from Nanchankulam Nellai Dist passed away on the 21st June 2011 on her 72nd birthday. On the fateful day, she had massive heart attack and passed in the early hours of the day. The next day on 22 nd June 2011 a funeral mass was conducted at the Infant Jesus Church Muthapudupettai and later her martal remains were buried in the Pattabiram Christian cemetry.

She was named Violet Varamani Santhammal. She worked in the office of the Garrison Engineer Jabalpur M P and retired. Her son Raja had come on the evening as he was away in Mumbai. Her daughter Rani and her spouse and children were there with her when she passed away. incidentally she and her husband are first cousins - her father and Manicam's mother are brother and sister.

Her younger brother R F H Gnanaprakasam Retired Junior Scientific Officer CVRDE AVadi Ministry of Defence over looked the funeral arrangement. Her another younger brother Mr Albert Jones passed away in 1996 afer illness. Another younger brother Santhosham retired from the Small Arms Factory Trichy could not attend the funeral function. Host of relatives and the members of the local faithful attended the fnction.

On the feast of St Aloysius of Gonzago the patron and presiding saint of Nanchankulam Catholic church she breathed her last!

She is the sister of Late Mrs J D Savariammal wife of David Dorairaj son of Thaavithu son of Samuel son of Jacob the grand old man and founder of Nanchankulam Village Nellai Dist. Hence, she is related to Jacobsons'.

May her soul rest in peace! Let eternal light shine upon her!

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION OF MUGILA GNANA GRACE ON 13TH MAY 2011

Mugilaa Gnana Grace daughter of D X Gnanraj son of Dorairaj son of David, son of Sameul son of Jacob the grand old man of the Jacob family and founder of Nanchankulam village, got her first holy communion on the 13th May 2011 at about 6.30. pm in the Lourdes Shrine, Perambur, Chennai 11 in the hands of Rev Fr K V Sebastian SDB.


Along with her six others also got the first communion trained by Sisters of Holy Cross, Siruvallur Road, Perambur, Chennai 11.












Please do pray for her well being and studies as she is entering 10th STD this year at Velammal School.

FIRST DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF TMT Swamiadyal wife of Thiru Thaaveethu RajendrM, Manamadurai
The first death anniversary of Thirumathi Swamiadyal wife of Thiru Thaaveethu Rajendram, son of Thaaveethu and great grand son of Jacob, founder of the village Nanchankulam, Tirunelveli Dist and the patriarch of the family was held on the 28th Dec at Manamadura. .

The family lineage is as follows
1. Jacob – founder of Nanchankulam Nellai Dist & patriarch of the family
2. Samuel – son of Jacob
3. Thaaveethu – son of Samuel, worked in Pinang Free School, Malaya
4. David Rajendran , son of Thaaveethu marries Swamiadiyal of Paambur near Mudukulthur, Ramanathapuram Dist

FIFTH GENERATION
Ø First son David Udayakumar (Pastor) married to Jayamani Stella
Ø Second son Premkumar married to Agnes Kalavathy
Ø Third son Rajkumar married to Arputha Mary

The anniversary is arranged in two parts one for the close relatives and the evening part for the community as a whole. Due to unavoidable reasons the gathering was started at 13.30 hours with the initial divine invocation. Rev David Udayakumar explained that the gathering was orgainsed as an effort to bring the families of his parents from Nanchankulam Tirunelveli Dist and Pambur, Sivgangai Dist.

The self introduction was started with the father’s side. From the family of Jacob, Shri Mahadevan now in Karaikudi, son of Mary Swaminthan, the eldest of the family was present. Shri Francis Xavier now in Aruppukottai, son of late Isaac of was present. Shri D X Gnanaraj now in Chennai son of late Dorairaj was present.
Later the families with their in laws were introduced as groups. With a few devotional songs, the gathering was intervened by dinner albeit 4 p m. though many wanted to continue, the lack of time prevented it. The evening community thanksgiving was scheduled at 5 p m. With a visit to the cemetery, the gathering was over. The cousins and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of all the sons were introduced.
